The EANES ISD Board unanimously approved its 2014-15 school year budget. The budget was set based on the district’s estimated revenue of $124,672,680. This is a $4 million increase over last year’s budget due to property tax revenue.
The Board also approved a step plus $200 pay increase for teachers and a 1.5 percent increase for other employee groups. The district’s second-biggest expense is payroll costs at $59,202,244.
According to an August 13 Community Impact Newspaper article, EANES ISD has operated at a deficit for the past few years with the fund balance having decreased from more than $39 million before the FY 2012–13 budget to an estimated $29,470,909 after the FY 2014–15 budget.
